Welcome to the UIC Business
Ranked #1 Undergraduate Business Program in Chicago by U.S. News & World Report for 2013
Chicago has become a global economic powerhouse, and UIC Business is preparing its students for success in an international environment. Our students come from around the world, and our domestic students take advantage of the many study abroad opportunities offered to them at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Diversity and Scholarship
UIC Business is home to one of the most diverse student bodies in the United States. We focus our recruitment efforts and nearly $500,000 of college scholarships to increasing our diverse student body from the Chicago Public Schools and the City Colleges of Chicago through Future Business Innovators scholarships. The student population at the Liautaud Graduate School of Business is global, diverse and focused on developing specific skills and knowledge to further professional endeavors. Nearly half of Liautaud students are international or represent domestic minority groups.
The college offers a range of courses and programs that foster an entrepreneurial spirit in our students. These efforts center in our Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies and the Department of Managerial Studies, who together coordinate classroom programs such as Entrepreneurial Student Teams Program, New Venture Formation, Technology Ventures and the Concept2Venture Business Plan Competition. Connecting Students to the City
Located on the edge of Chicago’s bustling business community, we are engaged with the city from recruiting prospective students to placing students after graduation. We are actively involved the Chicago Public Schools and the City Colleges of Chicago along with Fortune 500 companies and innovative small businesses in activities that will help lead incoming students toward successful articulation and transition into college.
The annual GMAC TeamMBA Award program recognizes schools that exemplify a commitment to social responsibility through the actions of their students and the school's demonstrated support of these efforts. The award will be presented during a ceremony at the GMAC Annual Conference in just a few weeks in Vancouver. Our very own MBAA student organization was nominated for this award for their support of the Night Ministry, including their second annual Moving Business to Act Benefit fundraiser in March.
