Mel Diaz, host of Map Left Behind introduces the driving force behind the newly created UIC Business podcast. As an Alum, Lecturer, and recently retired Corporate Executive he leans on his entire life experiences to share the powerful stories and personal road maps of students, alums, business professionals, and corporate leaders. His passion and personal connection to telling these stories ensures “Map Left Behind” delivers on its promise on making the path of the next generation a little bit easier to navigate.

Mel Diaz, Host
Mel Diaz is a Lecturer at UIC Business and teaches Introduction to Sales and Executives in the Classroom. He is a retired corporate executive with expertise in leadership development, health insurance consulting, strategic planning, and sales. He has led client management and sales teams responsible for growth and retention for top global consulting firms. Furthermore, he has a long history of engaging leaders at the C-suite level in the development and execution of their long-term strategic goals. As a proud double alum, he has a deep personal tie to UIC and is passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of students. He currently sits on UIC’s Business Advisory Council and is the host of the podcast “Map Left Behind”. Mel Diaz holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and an MBA from the University of Illinois Chicago.
