Fourth of July fireworks and the American flag

Jeffrey Parker, Associate Professor of Marketing, provided some suggestions to WalletHub for those in search of pointers for how people can safely showcase their patriotism this Independence Day in “Ask The Experts: Celebrating Independence Day The Right Way.”

“If you want to celebrate your pride in the country, the best way to do that, in my opinion, is with friends, family, food, and fun. […] If you are more focused on where the country can go from here—its promise—then the 4th is a great day of service,” Parker says.

“Most importantly, remember that this is not an either-or situation. It is okay and pretty normal to both be proud of our country and realize that there are ways that it can and hopefully will improve in the future.”
