On May 14, 2026, UIC Business welcomed admitted transfer students to the Transfer Student Dinner held at Student Center East. The event brought together future students, faculty, staff, alumni, and current student leaders for an evening focused on community, support, and preparing for a successful transition to UIC Business.

The program began with dinner and networking, giving students the opportunity to connect with peers and members of the UIC Business community. Sherren Lewis, Director of Recruitment welcomed attendees and guided the evening’s program, setting the tone for an engaging and informative event. Alumni speaker Priyal Mulji shared reflections on the transfer student experience and offered advice for students beginning their journey at UIC Business.

Students also heard from faculty and campus representatives during an informative panel discussion. The Business Support Panel, moderated by Jeff Jewett, featured Interim Head of the Accounting Department Melissa Martin, Gabriella Llines from the Business Career Center, and Selena Tucker from Academic Advising. Panelists discussed academic resources, career preparation, and student success support available within the college.

Current Finance student Thompson (TK) Kesse provided a student testimonial highlighting the value of involvement, resilience, and community at UIC. Bernadette Poole also led an interactive trivia session that brought energy and engagement to the evening. Campus representatives shared additional university resources with students, including Director Maria Morales from Financial Aid and information on Commuter & Off-Campus Life presented by Director Nehemiah Chung

Academic advisor Aaron Henrickson concluded the program by outlining important next steps for admitted transfer students before attendees continued networking with faculty, staff, and peers.

Thank you to all our speakers, panelists, alumni, and student leaders who contributed their time and experiences to make the evening meaningful and informative. We are excited to welcome this next generation of transfer students and look forward to all they will accomplish at UIC Business!
