Dressing for Success: Over 150 Students Attend Pop-Up Career Closet
UIC Business kicked off the spring career season with a record turnout at our recent Pop-Up Career Closet events. Thanks to the incredible support and donations from our alumni and the UIC Business community, we welcomed over 150 students who stopped by to find professional attire to help them prepare with confidence for career fairs and recruiting opportunities.
The Impact: In Our Students’ Words
For many, a suit is more than just fabric; it’s a bridge to opportunity. The feedback we received from those who found their perfect fit highlights just how vital these donations are:
- “I actually needed a suit for my organization today, and this really helped me out as I was stressing about having to pay for one.”
- “Thanks to the pop-up closet, I have a suit that I can wear and will help me in my search for internships and opportunities.”
- “I’m a struggling college student… looking for new clothes to look sharp at events, and this event has saved me from a lot of future embarrassment.”
- “I come from a family of financial need and wouldn’t have been able to get a suit otherwise! Appreciate y’all!”
Help Us Restock for Next Semester
With over 150 students attending, the high demand for professional clothing is clear. To ensure every student who walks through our doors can find what they need, we need your help to replenish our supply. If you have gently used professional clothing—suits, blazers, dress shirts, slacks, or skirts—please consider donating them to the next generation of business leaders.
Donation Details:
- Location: Douglass Hall, Suite 110
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
- Items Needed: Gently used professional attire (cleaned and on hangers preferred)
A huge thank you to everyone who has already contributed. You’re not just donating clothing—you’re helping a student walk into their next opportunity feeling prepared, confident, and proud.
