On Wednesday, March 18, the Finance and Investment Group (FIG) at UIC Business hosted a dynamic Alumni Networking Night, bringing together more than 30 professionals and alumni alongside current student members. The evening created a vibrant space for connection, conversation, and mentorship, with a strong mix of familiar faces and new participants engaging in meaningful dialogue about careers in finance.

FIG continues to serve as a cornerstone student organization within UIC Business, focused on preparing students for careers in finance through experiential learning, professional development, and industry engagement. Events like Alumni Networking Night reflect the organization’s mission to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application by connecting students directly with professionals who once stood in their shoes.

Throughout the evening, students had the opportunity to gain insights into a variety of finance career paths, ask candid questions, and begin building relationships that extend well beyond a single event. Alumni and professionals shared their experiences navigating the industry, offering practical advice and encouragement to the next generation of UIC Business talent.

The energy in the room reflected a shared commitment to growth, mentorship, and community. The success of the event underscores the strength of the UIC Business network and the impact of student-led initiatives like FIG. Students left with new insights, connections, and a clearer sense of the paths ahead. The event reflects both the strength of the UIC Business network and FIG’s role in preparing students for careers in finance.
