Han Nguyen Named May Student Leader of the Month
UIC Business is proud to recognize Han Nguyen as the May Student Leader of the Month. A senior majoring in human resource management, Han is actively involved across campus as a UIC Business Ambassador, the vice president of the UIC Society of Human Resource Management Student Chapter, and director of corporate relations for the UIC Real Estate Club.
Han was selected for this recognition for her steady leadership, commitment to the community, and the impact she has had on those around her. As noted by her nominators, she leads with intention, humility, and a strong sense of purpose.
Han represents a different and equally important type of leadership. She is a behind-the-scenes leader who shows up, supports others, and leads through action rather than recognition.
Whether organizing events, supporting her peers, or mentoring fellow students, Han is known for going above and beyond — creating opportunities where others feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged to grow.
Her leadership extends beyond campus through her work with the Vietnamese Buddhist Youth Association, where she mentors and teaches youth, helping them stay connected to their culture and community. Nominators also highlighted her growth as a leader, noting her increasing confidence, willingness to step outside her comfort zone, and ability to lead both behind the scenes and alongside others. She is widely recognized for her kindness, adaptability, and ability to bring people together.
Outside of her academic and leadership commitments, Han enjoys staying active and is currently training in competitive badminton, with a goal of competing in future tournaments.
