UIC Business recognized Maria Venieris as the October 2026 Student Leader of the Month. This recognition celebrates students who demonstrate outstanding leadership, strengthen the UIC Business community, and make a meaningful impact through their campus involvement.
Maria Venieris is a Bachelor of Science in Finance student at the University of Illinois Chicago who is passionate about leadership, innovation, and impact. She has been named to the Dean’s List every semester at UIC and recently became a Specialist at Apple, where she has developed a deeper interest in how technology is transforming the way businesses operate and connect with people.
On campus, Maria serves as Vice President of Women in Business, where she leads the Executive Board and helps plan and execute events that create meaningful opportunities for students to connect, grow, and succeed. She is also an Executive Board Member of the Business Student Advisory Board, Corporate Relations Director for the Management Leadership Association, and a UIC Business Ambassador.
Through her professional experience and student organization leadership, Maria has cultivated meaningful relationships with students, faculty, and business professionals, building connections across communities and contributing to initiatives that strengthen UIC Business. She believes the most meaningful leadership is defined not only by what you accomplish, but by the opportunities you create for others along the way. She is committed to leading with purpose and encouraging others to achieve their goals with confidence.
Looking ahead, Maria plans to pursue a Master of Business Administration and build a career at the intersection of finance and technology, with the goal of contributing to innovative solutions that shape the future of business.
Beyond academics and leadership, Maria enjoys traveling, exploring art, and finding creative ways to bring her interests into everything she does.
