This partnership represents a significant step forward in our commitment to providing students with career-connected learning opportunities that prepare them to lead, innovate, and contribute across the business landscape.

A Shared Commitment to Student Success

The UIC Business Corporate Partner Program provides critical resources that enrich the student experience—strengthening professional development, hands-on learning, and access to valuable industry networks. The partnership was formally launched this fall semester, and Medline has already demonstrated an impressive level of engagement across classrooms, student organizations, and career development initiatives.

“We’re excited for the UIC community to get to know Medline—our mission, our culture, and our opportunities.”
— Pallavi Connor, VP, Chief Belonging Officer, Human Resources

Pallavi Connor elaborated on Medline’s purpose for the partnership:

“This partnership with UIC deepens our engagement with a leading business school right here in our community. We’re proud to work alongside UIC faculty and students to exchange insights and offer real-world perspectives that support students as they develop their careers. And we’re equally excited for the UIC community to get to know Medline—our mission, our culture, and the wide range of opportunities available across our organization.”

Medline’s involvement is already evident through a series of high-impact engagements that support leadership development, talent exploration, and deeper academic-industry collaboration.

Business Scholars: Relationship Building and the Power of Influence

On November 13, Medline engaged more than 100 Business Scholars in an interactive session focused on relationship building and influence—skills central to effective leadership and professional success. The event concluded with a hands-on activity led by senior Medline leaders, providing students with a unique opportunity to apply concepts in real time and gain insight from experienced industry professionals.

Career Fair Engagement: Strengthening the UIC Talent Pipeline

During the Fall 2025 recruiting season, Medline demonstrated its commitment to recruiting UIC talent by maintaining an active presence at both the Finance Career Fair and the Marketing & Sales Career Fair.  Their participation highlighted the breadth of roles available within the organization and reinforced a growing, long-term recruitment partnership with UIC Business.

Classroom Engagement: Intro to Sales

On November 25, students in Adjunct Lecturer Carolyn Calzavara’s Intro to Sales course benefited from a dynamic guest session with Pallavi Connor and Adam Parker. Pallavi shared insights into Medline’s mission and culture, while Adam discussed pathways into sales careers and the skills needed for a successful career launch. The session resonated strongly with students, who appreciated the connection between classroom concepts and industry realities.

Students expressed how valuable it was to hear directly from professionals who had once been in their position and could speak authentically about early career development.

“Hearing about the flexibility of career paths at Medline made me feel more confident about my future.”

Graduate Student Insights: MBAA & GMARK Panel

On November 18, 2025, Graduate students from the MBA Association (MBAA) and the Graduate Marketing Association (GMARK) participated in a lively conversation with Medline leaders, including Pallavi Connor, Sarah Carbone, and UIC alumna Alekya Eyunni. The conversation explored company culture, internship pathways, and full-time opportunities while giving students the chance to ask high-level questions and build meaningful professional connections.

Faculty Engagement and Strategic Alignment

On November 19, Medline leaders met with UIC Business faculty and academic leadership to lay the groundwork for sustained collaboration. The discussion reinforced a shared commitment to expanding experiential learning opportunities, deepening industry engagement, and strengthening pathways between academic preparation and professional readiness.

Looking Ahead

UIC Business and Medline share a commitment to cultivating diverse talent, accelerating professional growth, and investing in the next generation of business leaders. We look forward to expanding this partnership and opening even more pathways for our students to learn, grow, and launch successful careers.
