Shahnaz Ibrahim, Clinical Associate Professor of Managerial Studies at the UIC College of Business Administration, was recognized with the Service Excellence Award during the UIC Business Fall 2026 Faculty Meeting.

Ibrahim’s service has focused on strengthening the Department of Managerial Studies and contributing to the broader development of the college through curriculum innovation, experiential learning, industry and community partnerships, and initiatives focused on emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, social impact, and responsible leadership.

One initiative she is particularly proud of is the B Impact Clinic at UIC Business, launched in partnership with UIC Innovation and B Local Illinois. The initiative connects students with B Corp-certified companies, allowing them to work as sustainability consultants and develop recommendations addressing real-world challenges. She also contributed to the Chicago Sky Foundation’s Women’s Small Business Cohort, helping develop a workshop on strategy, innovation, and scaling for women entrepreneurs in Chicagoland.

For Ibrahim, service is about creating meaningful connections between students, faculty, industry, and the broader community while preparing students for an evolving workplace.

Receiving the Service Excellence Award was genuinely unexpected and deeply meaningful. I am humbled by the recognition.
