Strengthening UIC Business’s Connections Across Chicago

Dean Sandy Wayne and Jim Kirk pose together in front of a Best Places to Work 2026 display at the Crain’s Chicago Business ceremony.

Recently, I attended Crain’s Chicago Business’ Best Places to Work 2026 ceremony, celebrating organizations that are building exceptional workplace cultures. The event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with business leaders across Chicago and learn more about the organizations shaping our city’s future.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Jim Kirk, Group President of Crain City Brands and Publisher of Crain’s Chicago Business. Building relationships with leaders like Jim reinforces the important role UIC Business plays in Chicago’s business community. Our students, faculty and alums are deeply connected to the region, and these relationships help strengthen opportunities for collaboration, engagement and impact.

I look forward to continuing to expand UIC Business’s relationships with Chicago’s business leaders and organizations.
