Fatima Jones —July Student Leader of the Month
Meet the business student whose passion for people, innovation, and community engagement is shaping experiences both on campus and beyond.
Fatima Jones
Fatima Jones is a business management student at the University of Illinois Chicago with experience in human resources, operations, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement. She currently serves as a student coordinator at the Student Veteran’s Affairs Office and has gained experience in inclusive student engagement during her internship with UIC’s Gender & Sexuality Center. Fatima is also the cofounder of KHAOS Creative Collective, a student organization that creates opportunities for artists, musicians, designers, and creatives to connect through showcases, workshops, and community events on & off campus. Through her leadership roles, she has helped organize events, train team members, strengthen community partnerships, and improve organizational processes. Her work is driven by a passion for building strong communities and creating meaningful opportunities for others. Fatima is particularly interested in talent development, operations, real estate, and business strategy. One of her long-term career goals is to be a director of a department within a financial services institution, leading people-focused initiatives that help organizations grow while creating positive social impact. Outside of her professional and academic work, she is an award-winning musician and performs throughout the Midwest with her blues band, A Patch of Blues. She also serves as the Creative Director and Content Strategist for Inside the Chicago, a social media blog/ media production company that highlights Chicago’s culture, creatives, businesses, and community stories.
