The Third Annual Finance Conference, hosted by the UIC Business Department of Finance, took place May 15–16 at UIC. The conference brought together leading scholars and researchers from across the country for a highly successful event showcasing cutting-edge finance research. Of the 260 paper submissions received, only 12 were selected for presentation, an acceptance rate of just 4.6%, reflecting the conference’s highly competitive 4.6% acceptance rate and commitment to academic excellence.

A standout moment of the conference was the keynote presentation, “Dinner Table Alphas,” delivered by Lauren Cohen during a special dinner at Willis Tower. The conference also recognized Isaac Hacamo with the Best Discussant Award for his discussion of “Generative AI and Entrepreneurs.”

Special thanks go to Finance faculty and conference co-chairs Dermot Murphy and Dominique Badoer, as well as to the presenters, discussants, session chairs, and participants whose contributions made the event a success. The conference continues to strengthen UIC Finance’s reputation as a driving force for impactful research and scholarly collaboration.
