Three Ways UIC Business Supports Undergraduate Students This Fall
Introduction
As the fall semester approaches, UIC Business is reminding undergraduate students about several resources available to help them start the academic year prepared and supported. From technology assistance to academic advising and peer tutoring, these services are designed to help students navigate the first weeks of the semester and stay on track.
Advising for Undergraduate Students
Laptop Loans Available to Students
UIC Business has laptops available to loan to undergraduate students who need access to a device. The laptops were donated by corporate partner Aon.
Faculty and staff who encounter a CBA undergraduate student who may benefit from a laptop should direct the student to email Liz Sady at kubik1@uic.edu for assistance.
Undergraduate Advising Support
The Undergraduate Advising Team is available through several options to help students address their academic and advising needs, particularly during the busy first two weeks of the semester.
Students can:
- Email their academic advisor with questions. During the first two weeks of the semester, students should expect a response within two to four business days, although advisors strive to respond sooner.
- Schedule a 10-minute Express Advising appointment through iAdvise during Weeks 1 and 2.
- Find their academic advisor through iAdvise or email bizadvising@uic.edu if they are unsure who their advisor is.
Free Peer Tutoring
Free, virtual peer tutoring will be available through the Business Learning Center beginning on the first day of class. Students can view the tutoring schedule and learn how to make an appointment through the Business Learning Center.
These resources are part of UIC Business’s ongoing efforts to support undergraduate student success and connect students with the assistance they need throughout the academic year.
