UIC Business is proud to introduce a new collaborative pilot program launched this Spring 2026, created in partnership with Corporate Partner Aon and Junior Achievement of Chicago. This initiative brings together Aon professionals and UIC Business students, as co-volunteers, working side-by-side at Solario High School to strengthen financial literacy and expand students’ exposure to college and career pathways.

At its core, the pilot is designed to create meaningful, intergenerational learning experiences. Aon employees and UIC Business students will team up to deliver Junior Achievement’s nationally respected curriculum—giving high school students hands-on lessons in budgeting, saving, career planning, and personal finance. In addition to teaching, volunteers will share their academic and professional journeys, offering students a real-world perspective on what business education and corporate careers can offer.

A total of 11 UIC Business students were selected to participate in the inaugural cohort. Each student submitted a resume and essay demonstrating their commitment, interest in service, and motivation to be part of the program. The group is primarily composed of members of Business Service Leaders, a student organization rooted in community engagement and volunteerism.

This partnership represents a shared commitment to education, opportunity, and community impact. By uniting corporate partners, college students, and high school learners, the pilot creates a dynamic model for service that benefits all participants.

As the pilot kicks off this spring, UIC Business looks forward to highlighting the experiences and successes of the inaugural volunteer cohort.

More updates to come as we follow this exciting new collaboration in action!
