UIC Business Brings the Energy to Homecoming Tailgate

Where school pride meets whipped cream: Pie a Professor returns to Homecoming.

UIC Business brought the energy to this year’s UIC Homecoming Tailgate with its second annual Pie a Professor event. Despite the cold weather, students, faculty, and alumni came together to celebrate school spirit, connection, and community.

Students stopped by the UIC Business booth to enjoy cookies, enter a social media giveaway, and challenge faculty to a duel of Two Truths and a Lie. Those who correctly identified the lie earned the right to pie their professors — and they didn’t hold back. This year’s scoreboard captured the friendly competition: 56 students challenged a professor, and 48 successfully pied one.

Faculty participants included Kim Moon (Marketing) and Neel Patel (Accounting), who joined for the first time, along with returning participants Bill O’Brien (Finance) and Kimmie Warner (Professional Development Program).

Many business student organizations participated as well, adding to the sense of community and school pride that define the UIC Business experience. The event supports Dean Wayne’s strategic priority of celebrating exceptional faculty and strengthening student-faculty connections across the college.

The night concluded with fireworks lighting up the sky — a fitting finale to another memorable Homecoming celebration.
