UIC Business Climbs to #61 in UTD Top 100 North American Business School Rankings
The University of Illinois Chicago College of Business Administration has reached #61 in the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) Top 100 North American Business School Research Rankings for 2025, capping a decade-long climb from #91 in 2018. The progression has been steady: #91 in 2018, #85 in 2019, #77 in 2020, #70 in both 2021 and 2022, #65 in 2023, #64 in 2024, and now #61.
When Canadian institutions are excluded, UIC Business ranks #58 among U.S. business schools — and now sits ahead of three Big Ten institutions: Iowa, Oregon, and Rutgers.
The UTD rankings track faculty publications across 24 leading business journals, making them one of the most rigorous measures of research productivity in business education. UIC Business’s rise reflects the strength of its tenure system faculty, whose scholarly output distinguishes the college among its Chicago-area peers — and affirms the college’s growing contribution to UIC’s status as an R1 research institution.
“This ranking is a direct reflection of the caliber and dedication of our faculty,” said UIC Business Dean Sandy Wayne. “Their research is not only elevating our standing nationally, it’s strengthening UIC’s identity as a top-tier research institution.”
