Congratulations to UIC Business students Evan Guffey, Alexander Guerrero, and Damian Kuczek, who qualified for the Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge (MECC) Team Championships in Las Vegas following their performance at the April Team e-Invitational on April 23.

Competing at the varsity level against teams from universities across the country and internationally, the UIC team secured a top finish to advance to the championship round — an impressive achievement in a highly competitive field.

The MECC Team Championship Quarterfinals will take place November 30 through December 2, 2026, in Las Vegas, where the team will represent UIC Business on a national stage.

Competitions like MECC provide students with valuable applied experience in Microsoft Excel, challenging them to analyze complex datasets, build financial and operational models, and translate insights into strategic recommendations. These hands-on experiences strengthen the technical and analytical skills essential to careers in business, finance, and consulting.

UIC Business congratulates Evan, Alexander, and Damian on earning this opportunity and looks forward to cheering them on as they compete in Las Vegas this fall.
