UIC Business Welcomes Dr. Morgan Herron
New Teaching Assistant Professor Brings 25+ Years of Executive and Entrepreneurial Leadership to the Department of Managerial Studies
About Dr. Morgan Herron
Dr. Morgan Herron joins the Department of Managerial Studies as a Teaching Assistant Professor, bringing more than 25 years of executive leadership, entrepreneurial, consulting, and higher education experience. Prior to joining UIC, he taught in the Driehaus College of Business at DePaul University, where he instructed courses in Business for Social Good, Business Technology, and Operations Management. He also served as the founding faculty advisor for the Business for Social Good Club.
Before entering academia, Dr. Herron served as Chief Executive Officer of an insurance company and a business consulting firm and was involved in launching several startup companies. He also owned and operated multiple McDonald’s and Ben & Jerry’s franchises, gaining extensive experience in leadership, operations, entrepreneurship, and organizational strategy.
Dr. Herron’s research examines consumer responses to brand activism across religious and cultural groups, artificial intelligence in organizations, organizational behavior, sustainability, ethics, and consumer behavior. He is also the co-author of a forthcoming Palgrave Macmillan book chapter exploring the intersection of humanism, ethics, and business strategy.
Dr. Herron earned a Doctor of Business Administration from DePaul University and an MBA from Northeastern Illinois University. At UIC, he teaches Human Resource Management, Organizational Theory, Organizational Behavior, Entrepreneurship, and Transportation Systems. He looks forward to collaborating with his new colleagues and preparing students through an applied, practice-informed approach to business education.
