Wanlin Shen Earns First Place at 2026 Windy City Case Competition
UIC Business graduate leads a cross-university team to victory at a premier Chicago consulting competition
Inside the Windy City Case Competition
UIC Business graduate student Wanlin Shen recently helped lead her team to a 1st-place finish at the 2026 Windy City Case Competition, a cross-university consulting competition that brings together advanced degree students from the University of Illinois Chicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Chicago.
Hosted in collaboration with consulting organizations from all three institutions, the competition challenged teams to solve a real-world business case for client partner Articulate Labs. After advancing through a competitive first round, Wanlin’s team, Chicago Campus Convergence, earned the top prize during the final round competition held April 25 at Northwestern University’s Simpson-Querrey Auditorium.
Wanlin, who graduated this spring from UIC Business’s MBA and MSF programs, represented UIC in the final round and was the only UIC student on the winning team. Reflecting on the experience, she shared that competing alongside students from peer institutions and bringing UIC into that cross-campus setting made the achievement especially meaningful.
The Windy City Case Competition continues to highlight the strength of Chicago’s growing advanced degree consulting community and the impact of collaboration across institutions. Congratulations to Wanlin on this outstanding accomplishment and on representing UIC Business so well on the regional stage.
