About

Chandra Shekhar Pathki (Chandu) is a 5th year Doctoral Candidate in Business Administration: Human Resource Management emphasis. His research seeks to examine the interpersonal dynamics in the context of leadership, work interactions and individual differences. These interests developed during his stint as a research assistant in management at Indian School of Business (ISB). While working on a range of projects as a research assistant, he was intrigued by the influence that leadership and individual differences have on employee outcomes over the course of daily workplace interactions. Accordingly, during his doctoral program, he built a coherent stream of research around these topics. To date, he was involved in research that examines the effects of leadership processes and work interactions on a range of employee emotions and outcomes. He is also involved in research that understands and operationalizes work specific personality and individual differences.

Besides research, he also works as an instructor at UIC where he teaches a Management undergraduate course, "Introduction to Organizational Behavior". He has an extensive experience assisting faculty members on courses related to management at UIC and ISB. Such courses include negotiation analysis, leadership development, responsible leadership, management of organizations, building high performance teams, change management, global strategic management, enterprise strategy, corporate strategy, business communications etc. He has been responsible for several aspects related to the successful completion of the course such as crafting the syllabus, class content, administering exams and providing feedback. He finds teaching to complement his research as preparing for a lecture or carrying out a class discussion helps refine existing research ideas and can even stimulate new ideas.

Further, Chandu has various hobbies. He is an ardent music lover where he loves singing and listening various genres of music. He loves different types of food and enjoys cooking at home. He is also a wildlife enthusiast as he likes to visit national parks, lakes, waterfalls etc. His favorite animal is Tiger, but he has never seen one so far (in the wild).
