A transfer applicant has attended college/university and earned college credit since graduating from high school. A readmit applicant is someone who has previously attended UIC and is looking to return to complete their Bachelor’s degree.

Transfer Admission Requirements
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
This program helps you finish a general business degree—online or on campus—to reach your academic goals. You’re eligible to apply if you’ve completed at least 60 college credit hours in the following two categories and meet the GPA requirement:
- Core Requirements:
- English Composition I
- English Composition II
- Principles of Macroeconomics
- Principles of Microeconomics
- Elementary Linear Algebra, Finite Mathematics, Calculus, or Business Calculus
- General Education Requirements
- Analyzing the Natural World
- Exploring World Cultures
- Understanding the Creative Arts
- Understanding the Individual and Society
- Understanding the Past
- Understanding U.S. Society
- Electives (24 hours)
- Maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.5 (4.0 grading scale) in all post-secondary coursework.
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree Programs
Transfer applicants must earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 (A = 4.0) in 24 semester hours at time of application and 36 semester hours (54-quarter hours) at time of enrollment. Transfer degree guidelines are the following:
- Core Requirements:
- English Composition I
- English Composition II
- Completion of one of the following math courses with grades of C or better:
- Elementary Linear Algebra
- Business Calculus
- Finite Math
- Calculus
- The minimum recommended GPA for consideration is 2.75.
Applicants who have not completed one of these courses may still be considered for admission through a holistic review of their coursework.

Transfer Admission Deadlines
Transfer Admission Pathways
A transfer applicant has attended college/university and earned college credit since graduating from high school. A readmit applicant is someone who has previously attended UIC and is looking to return to complete their Bachelor’s degree.
The Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program
TAG is a partnership between specific Community Colleges and the University of Illinois Chicago that offers a guaranteed transfer pathway to several UIC programs. TAG offers certainty to parents and students who want to transfer to UIC rather than attend as first year students.
To enter the program, you must be enrolled in a participating community college, complete and submit the TAG Pathways Participation Form and complete the requirements of the TAG program before applying to UIC.
After joining, you will need to stay in contact with your UIC transfer counselor and maintain a 3.0 or better GPA, while satisfying additional requirements listed.
UI System Guaranteed Transfer Admission (USGTA)
USGTA Students transferring from an Illinois community college are guaranteed admission into any of the University of Illinois System locations through The U of I Transfer Guarantee if they meet requirements.
Through The U of I System Transfer Guarantee, transferring is easier than you think. Students transferring from an Illinois community college are guaranteed admission into any of the University of Illinois System locations through The U of I Transfer Guarantee.
UIC in conjunction with the UI Systems Office has agreed to admit all transfer applicants that meet the following criteria:
- Graduated from an Illinois high school
- Attended any accredited institution of higher education (CC or 4 year college/university in the United States) after IL high school graduation
- Earned at least 36 graded, transferable hours at the time of application to UIC
- Have a minimum 3.00 GPA earned in all transferable coursework
Illinois Guaranteed Transfer Admission (IGTA)
UIC is mandated to admit all transfer applicants that meet the following criteria:
- Graduated from an Illinois high school
- Attended only an IL CC after IL high school graduation
- Earned at least 36 graded, transferable hours at the time of application to UIC
- Have a minimum 3.00 GPA earned in all transferable coursework
- Admit all IGTA qualified students to LAS Undecided Refer all applications that meet IGTA criteria to the college for review and, if denied, admit to LAS undeclared.
Transfer Support Academy
The UIC Business Transfer Support Academy is a unique and exclusive preparation program designed to assist transfer students with their transition to UIC Business, while leveraging our academic, professional, and support resources to maximize their student experience. This program will engage students through early advising and course articulation, mentorship, and strategic career planning from our dedicated UIC Business Career advisors.
Program Requirements
Students who meet program requirements are encouraged to complete their associate degree before transferring to UIC.
- Currently enrolled students at Harold Washington Community College
- Must have 45 credit hours (AP, IB, and Dual Credit) completed or in-progress
- Minimum 2.75 GPA with completion of English Composition 1 and one required Math course with a C or better
- Must submit a completed Admission Application for fall 2025 Admission. This includes: Transcripts (All Collegiate Academic History, Personal Statement, and Program Choice Essay). Letters or Recommendation are optional
