UIC Business Transfer Admissions FAQ
What is a transfer student at UIC Business?
A transfer student is anyone who has attended a college or university and earned credit since graduating from high school, regardless of total credits earned. This includes students moving from Illinois community colleges, other four-year schools or international institutions. If you never enrolled in a college or university after high school (even if you earned dual-enrollment credits), you would apply through first-year admissions instead.
What GPA do I need for UIC transfer admissions?
For any UIC Business BS degree, the minimum cumulative GPA is 2.50, with 2.75 recommended for the strongest consideration. For the online UIC Bachelor of Business Administration program, you’ll need a 2.5 cumulative GPA across all post-secondary coursework. Because UIC Business reviews each application holistically, consistent grade trends and strong performance in prerequisite courses also factor into your file.
How do I know which of my credits will transfer?
Use Transferology to map your completed coursework to UIC equivalencies before you submit your application. This tool is especially useful if you’re moving from an Illinois community college, where many course equivalencies are already established.
Are there specific financial aid options available for transfer students?
Yes, UIC offers several financial aid options specific to transfer students. View scholarship opportunities, criteria, and how to apply.
What is a readmit student?
A readmit student is a student who previously attended the University of Illinois Chicago and wants to return to finish their bachelor’s degree. It’s a different process from the standard transfer application. Contact our admissions team to get started.
When should I submit my UIC transfer application?
Apply as early as possible. The Transfer Intent to Enroll (ITE) deadline for fall 2026 is June 1, 2026. Early applicants considering a business administration transfer to UIC get the strongest chance at scholarships, housing availability and early credit evaluation, so you can plan your remaining semesters ahead of your first term at UIC Business.
