BA 289 Internships
Internships provide a focus on leadership competencies in addition to relevant work experience. The Business Career Center partners with corporations to include learning outcomes related to selected competencies. Student advising is provided by the BA 289 faculty adviser.
UIC Business requires the following professional development course and additional electives are also offered periodically.
BA 100 – Required course for freshmen (first eight weeks of the fall semester)
BA 220 - Required course for sophomores (first eight weeks of the spring semester)
BA 420 – Course for transfer students (complete in the first year of enrollment)
Additional activities include Business Boot Camps, faculty and executive seminars, the boardroom series, and case competitions.
Community service opportunities abound at UIC Business. Some options incl Junior Achievement as well as peer advising.

Students gain access to alumni and exposure to executives through the Alumni4U program, corporate site visits and the lecture series.
