Generate New Ideas
As an urban research university, UIC produces new insights everyday. Our students and faculty are producing new knowledge into the business world, which you can benefit from. Our courses and research centers provide numerous opportunities for research collaboration as well as practical engagement through our student teams programs.
Small business owners and entrepreneurs will find an ally in the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. Through it workshops, experts in residence and numerous community outreach efforts through its Small Business Development Center, the institute strives to provide the resources and guidance entrepreneurs need to succeed.
Concept2Venture is our annual business plan competition. Our students take inventions and new technologies from across our 15 colleges and schools, including engineering and the health sciences, and develop smart, competitive business plans. Contact us to get involved--be a judge or just learn about the new big thing in business.
IES also manages the Entrepreneurial Student Teams Program. Teams of business students work closely with companies to help them solve real business issues. The projects that consulting teams work on are determined by a client's needs. Students provide their clients with detailed reports upon completion of the project, recommending action steps.
Students can provide the freshest perspective and most innovative ideas. We offer the opportunity for companies to act as clients for many classes, including interdisciplinary product development, new venture formation, information systems consulting and more. Those who have taken advantage of these programs include Dell, Microsoft, Morningstar, Motorola and Whirlpool

Invest in UIC Business
When you make a gift to UIC Business, you become a vital part of our student's transformation from student to successful business leader. Many of our wonderful students need financial support to achieve their educational goals, and they excel when they have the support of generous donors. Philanthropic leadership serves as a catalyst for their success. Please consider establishing a scholarship, developing a partnership or supporting one enterprising student.
