Paul Callejas, BS ’15, is one of 18 young entrepreneurs recently awarded a 2016 Future Founders Fellowship. Callejas, who founded the startup GPS Campus, will participate in training, mentoring and development opportunities as part of the fellowship, an initiative of the Future Founders Startup.
Future Founders works with UIC, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University and other Illinois schools to foster a community of young entrepreneurs in the Chicago area. Callejas, who is originally from the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago, was heavily involved with student life during his time at UIC, working with the Rafael Cintrón Latino Cultural Center, Movimiento Latino, the Illinois Small Business Development Center, the UIC Urban Health Program and the U of I Alumni Center. After graduating from UIC Business, Callejas translated this engagement into GPS Campus, a free app that connects students to events, organizations and small businesses on and around campus.
