Professor Hanson’s Real Estate Market Analysis course hosted a real estate careers panel featuring three prominent UIC alums Niko Wasilewicz (’20), Ciere Boatright (’16), and James Wagner (’19). All three work in real estate careers, but in very different roles, offering students an idea of the broad range of careers within the field of real estate.

Niko Wasilewicz works as a Brokerage Analyst at Jones Lange LaSalle, a career that heavily involves working with people and building relationships. Ciere Boatright has built a career on the development side of real estate, working on public-private partnerships and community engagement, she highlighted that in her career she is constantly exposed to new and different challenges. James Wagner’s career has been more on the real estate finance tract, he currently works at Bradford Allen as an Investment Associate, where he told students that his career is heavily focused on math, spreadsheets, and data analytics.

Students in the class were active in asking the panel a barrage of questions, and the three panelists were happy to impart their wisdom on a range of topics from how to break into the real estate field to what Chicago neighborhoods they see as the best investments. At the end of class, the panel was gifted some brand new Stewart Handler Department of Real Estate swag that they proudly displayed for a photo op!
