Marketing professor Lan Nguyen Chaplin has been named one of 2018’s Top 50 Undergraduate Business Professors by Poets & Quants, claiming the top nomination spot with 15% of the nods – a record high for P&Q. Her research on decreasing materialism and increasing gratitude in children has been featured in Esquire, Forbes and the Chicago Tribune. Materialism has been linked to anxiety, depression, and selfish behaviors in children, but Professor Chaplin’s research shows that teaching gratitude is key in avoiding entitlement and raising generous kids.
