Led by Matt Liotine, Clinical Professor of IDS, a cohort of UIC graduate students participated in the ProMat 2023 Trade Show Student Day event in Chicago. The group of 20 was comprised of students from the Supply Chain & Operations Management program, Industrial Engineering program, and the Operations Management Group (OMG) student organization.
ProMat is the nation’s largest supply chain trade show and features over 1,000 of the world’s leading solution providers in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, warehousing and transportation. On Student Day, participants were given the opportunity to connect with practicing field professionals to learn and view first hand the emerging trends in supply chain systems and technologies related to sustainability, IoT, AI, robotics and automation. Students were also directed to companies promoting employment opportunities, which comprised a major portion of the exhibitors, due to the vast shortage of workers in this field.
