About
Renata A. Tarasievich is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Undergraduate Studies for the B.S. in Management program within the Department of Managerial Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Business Administration.
A dedicated member of the UIC faculty since 2002, Professor Tarasievich has extensive teaching experience spanning core undergraduate and advanced MBA curricula. Her instructional expertise includes organizational behavior, human resource management, competitive strategy, conflict resolution, and diversity in managerial effectiveness. Her teaching excellence has been widely recognized by the university community, earning her the prestigious Silver Circle Award for Excellence in Teaching across multiple years, as well as the Department of Managerial Studies Excellence in Teaching Award.
In addition to her classroom leadership, Professor Tarasievich is deeply engaged in departmental and institutional governance. She serves as the Course Coordinator for Introduction to Organizations (MGMT 340) and acts as the Faculty Advisor for the Management Leadership Association. Her committee contributions include driving curricular advancements on the Sports Management Minor Development Committee, leading recruitment as a Faculty New Hire Search Committee Chair, and steering academic benchmarking as the Coordinator of Assessment Student Learning for AACSB Accreditation. Her past leadership also includes serving as Co-Chair of the departmental Awards Committee and contributing to the College of Business Administration Diversity Committee.
Professor Tarasievich’s research contributions explore team dynamics and international management, with published scholarship focusing on the mechanics of social loafing and the critical role of social support in expatriate performance and adjustment. Her co-authored work has appeared in top-tier peer-reviewed journals, including Personnel Psychology and the Journal of Management. Professionally active, she is a member of the Academy of Management and has frequently served as a peer reviewer for its annual division conferences and foundational management journals.
