Bachelor of Science in Real Estate

The Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Studies program is designed to provide the background required by employers in the real estate industry, while also providing the rigorous academic training needed for graduate study in real estate or finance.

The program emphasizes development of the skills required to conduct financial analysis of real estate investments, along with a thorough understanding of real estate institutions and training in market analysis and development.

RES 420 Real Estate Market Analysis

Analysis of real property markets, including land, buildings, and improvements. Prerequisite(s): ECON 120 and ECON 121; and FIN 300.

RES 425 Real Estate Valuation

Introduction to the valuation of real estate, with focus on the underlying determinants of location value. Prerequisite(s): ECON 120 and ECON 121; and FIN 300

RES 450 Real Estate Data Analysis

Analysis of real estate data using statistical software programs, with an emphasis on housing data. Extensive computer use required. Delivered virtually. Prerequisite(s): ECON 120 and ECON 121; and FIN 300.

RES 250 Real Estate Principles

Introduction to real estate, including principles of finance, investments, accounting, management, marketing, and statistics. Provides background necessary for additional courses in real estate.

The Stuart Handler Department of Real Estate Board Members, including Stuart Handler and students

In spring 2024, the Stuart Handler Department of Real Estate celebrated its first graduates of its program. A feat six years in the making. The Stuart Handler Department of Real Estate Board Members, including Stuart Handler, were present both in person and virtually to celebrate the 13 students, 10 of which were in attendance. The students received a plaque to commemorate the celebration, and Grace Szklarek received the Academic Excellence Award.
